Saw in the forum that you got a Canon XT :)
Just wanted to say congratulations. I got one myself about a month ago, and I'm loving it. Just one advice: be careful with the lens and get a skylight filter to protect it. I didnt, and it already got a small scratch.
Oh and dont spend alot of money on lenses before you figured out what you want. I bought a (cheap) 55-200mm telephoto lens and I just dont know how much I'm gonna use it.

Anyway, congratulations and good luck!

Thanks for the advice. Ya I just have the 18-55mm right now but luckily my moms boyfriend said he had a 55-200mm sigma lens on his 35mm rebel that he's just gonna give me. The only lenses I know I want are a macro lens cause I like taking those weird close-up pictures and a good fisheye (which I'm guessing is gonna be a lot) for shooting skateboarding.

Thanks again.

that 55-200mm sigma is probably the one I'm using. It's really light and small and is easy to bring with me when I'm out walking or biking. I havent decided if the sharpness is as good as it should be though, but I'm happy as long as it's not ruining my pictures. Your plan for lenses in the future sounds exactly like my own. I'm drooling over a 1:1 macro lens (105mm) but it's gonna take a year for me to afford the 400-500$ that it costs hehe.
A fisheye would be awesome too, but its not really a priority. I've talked to a guy here on dA who got a cheap russian fisheye, and I think he's happy with it. I think it was =PhoeniX252 maybe you can talk to him?
